Aunque existen diferentes versiones sobre su origen, la más extendida en la mitología griega cuenta que Atlas era uno de los titanes que luchó contra los dioses del Olimpo (titanomaquia), que al acabar la guerra fue derrotado y que como castigo Zeus lo obligó a portar sobre sus espaldas la bola del mundo. /
Different versions are exposed about his origins but the most widespread idea in greek mythology tells about Atlas, a titan who fought and lost war against Olympus Gods and was imposed him as a punishment by Zeus to carrying the globe of the world on his shoulders.
